Profile Summary

Anna Webber is an agent at United Agents.  She joined PFD in 2005 and moved across to United Agents in 2007.   Please note, Anna is not currently building her list but will consider taking on a few high quality literary and commercial fiction submissions each year.

Our researchers have pored over her client list and the limited biographical information available to bring you the following facts:

  • Although her preference is for fiction submissions, non-fiction is represented on her list.  Topics of interest include feminism (Natasha Walters), literary criticism (John Mullan) and history.  We think she would consider exceptional non-fiction submissions, however, we would advise prospective clients to thoroughly research the subject areas already covered by existing clients
  • Has built up a stable of young up-and-coming literary and general fiction writers who have been nominated for a range of literary prizes (Emily St John Mandel, David Szalay, Patrick Neate and Yannick Murphy are among the names in this category)
  • Comic writing is another area of interest.  Ian Pattson, comic novelist and creator of Rab C Nesbitt is one of her clients
  • List includes a group of prizewinning poets (Michael Symmons Roberts, Alice Oswald and James Fenton)
  • Short Story Writers are welcome too.  James Lasdun (Landscape with Chainsaw) is one of her success stories
  • Anna speaks English, French and German
  • She tweets irregularly @aeewebber

Sadly, there is limited information about Anna online and, as yet, she has not responded to our requests for information on her literary preferences.  This makes it difficult for new writers to gauge whether she might be the right representative for their work.  Given that her list is mostly complete, we would only advise submitting if you have a unique literary voice or an outstanding non-fiction idea.

We have altered her genre preferences in accordance with her assistant's request, but we suspect she would also be open to good quality non-fiction submissions particular in territory comparable to that covered by her existing clients.
