Profile Summary

Annabel is head of PFD’s book department as well as being an agent in her own right. Her list is predominantly focused on non-fiction, notably history, military, cookery and memoir. It’s very hard to research that list in detail because the agency only publishes a firm-wide client list which cannot be sorted by agent.

She also reports a growing interest in fiction, including ‘Commercial, literary and crime’. We have not been able to find a more detailed exploration of Annabel’s literary passions, but are seeking further clarification direct from the agency.

An author herself, Annabel has written books on British Military Greats, The Explorer’s Eye (a book about exploration and adventure), and contributed to some books of photography.

Prior to joining PFD, Annabel ran her own agency, and before that she worked as deputy Managing Director of Cassell, probably Britain’s foremost publisher of military history and associated fields.

If any Agent Hunter user is able to supply additional information, we would be very grateful to receive it.

Standard agency submission.
Other advice and background:

Please do you research. This involves looking at my client list online to make sure that you think that your book fits my interest, and basic things like spelling my name right! I get a lot of submissions, and our guidelines online state that it can take us up to eight weeks to get back to you, so patience is key! We always respond to submissions, it just may not be immediately! I dont generally think Im right for sci-fi, romance, erotica or fantasy, but if the writing is good Ill take a second look.
