Georgia worked for a few years at Murray Pollnger -- a smaller, though well-established agency -- before joining DH in 1996. She became a director in 2011, and now manages the firm's contracts, a role which involves negotiating DH's basic terms of business with all the major publishers, as well as dealing with specific, complex contractual issues as they arise.
She also handles the firm's superb list of estates, which means she gets to look after names such as Edmund Blunden, Anthony Burgess, John Dickson Carr, James Hadley Chase, Arthur C Clarke, Scott Fitzgerald, Ford Madox Ford, James Heriot, BH Liddell-Hart, Louis MacNeice, Herbert Read, Dorothy Sayers, TH White, Hjohn Wyndham, AJP Taylor, Josephine Tey, Muriel Spark and many others.

While any writer should be flattered to be in that company we'd suggest that living authors are probably better off submitting their work to other agents -- and that dying simply to become eligible for Ms Glover's attention is probably a poor career move!

(NB: Georgia does, in fact, represent some authors who are still alive . . . but she will still not be a natural first port of call for 99% of writers.)

Georgia joined David Higham in 1996 after five years at the Murray Pollinger agency and was appointed a director of the company in 2011. She now looks after an eclectic list of clients, including the majority of a large stable of literary estates, working to ensure that the work of these classic writers remains available for new generations to discover and seeking new opportunities to bring back into print those works that are perhaps less well known but no less deserving of attention. Georgia is also the agency's contracts director, with a reputation as a strong negotiator in discussions with publishers, ensuring that clients benefit from the best possible terms.
