Profile Summary

Imogen has recently joined the Marjacq Scripts team following five years at the Aitken Alexander agency. Having started as an assistant to Gillon Aitken and Andrew Kidd she is now an agent in her own right. Imogen is developing a list of clients that centres on the accessible-literary and the intelligent-commercial. She also has an interest in more serious narrative non-fiction and short stories.

Her client list reveals the following:

While Imogen appreciates 'serious' fiction, she has a sense of humour when it comes to non-fictionCookery books are high on her wish-listImogen is interested in Travel writing, for instance, Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent's motorcycle booksUpmarket and unsettling women's fiction will catch her eye. Already on her list is Never Mind Miss Fox by Olivia Glazebrook)Imogen is happy to invest in debut authors -- one such client is Jo Jakeman who found representation with Imogen after completing a Curtis Brown Creative courseBoth historical novels and non-fiction history are of interest, such as Emily Mayhew's histories of the wounded men of WW1She represents several short story writers, includingCatherine McNamaraand Angela Readman

As a relatively new agent, Imogen is very keen to build her client list. We suggest that writers take Imogen's plea for literary and high-end commercial work seriously: she's likely to be receptive to any genuinely good material. It is also worth noting that Imogen is currently excited by investigative journalism and explorations of the arts.
