Profile Summary

Josephine Hayes became an agent at The Blair Partnership in 2015. Josephine engages with social media and has published a select list of author names on her Linked in page.  Our researchers are pleased to provide you with the following gems of information:

•Represents fiction, non-fiction and children’s authors

•Fiction clients include DD Everest (middle grade fiction “Archie Greene”); Katy Birchall (Teen fiction ‘The It Girl); Rachael Chadwick (memoir '60 Postcards').

•In non-fiction, she represents Guardian journalist Helen Babbs; comedian James Veitch; and Historian Anton Rippon.  She also has an interest in diet and lifestyle books – self-help guru Steve Miller is a client.

•On the look-out for fiction suitable for reading groups; historical fiction; commercial women’s fiction – strong, unforgettable characters are a must; children’s middle grade fiction; and well plotted young adult fiction.

•Tweets irregularly @josephine_hayes

•Read history at the University of Exeter

•Previously worked as an editorial assistant at the British Medical Journal and a publicity assistant at Pan Macmillan

•Began her career at Bell Lomax as an assistant in 2010, and went on to become an agent there in 2013.

•Outside the world of publishing, Jo likes dogs and crafts

We believe that Jo is actively building her list and would be a good agent for those of you with a commerical or teen fiction manuscript.

Short biography:

After reading History at the University of Exeter, Jo ran a ski chalet in the French Alps and then upon returning to the UK started working in the editorial department of the British Medical Journal.
