Profile Summary

Although the Mary Clemmey Literary Agency has been running for many years (the agency was purportedly founded in 1992), there's little information available on the business in the public domain. The agency has no website or online presence of any kind. All that is available is a personal email address for Mary and postal address. As such, she is not recommended as the best agent to approach.

Mary does not take unsolicited manuscripts. If you do wish to approach her, you must first write to her (preferably by post, with a sealed and addressed envelope) introducing yourself and the work you are looking to find representation for.

Agent Hunter was unable to track down any information regarding Mary's preferences and interests, but she does supposedly take both fiction and non-fiction. Instead of what she does want to receive, there are a few notes as to what she will NOT take, such as science fiction or children's books.

While Mary does represent her authors in TV/film rights, it is stated that she only does so for existing clients. In other words, if you are specifically after an agent who can look after you in this arena, you are better off looking elsewhere. She is very interested in works that have international market appeal and works with a partner agent in the US for their market.
