Profile Summary

Penny has little in the way of an online presence other than the bare minimum information that appears on her agency's home page. The Jennifer Luithlen Agency was founded in 1986 with Penny joining six years later after completing her degree. She has been a pull agent at the company since 1999.

The agency is small and independent with only 30 clients. They take on relatively few new agents so as not to overburden themselves, wanting to keep close relationships with their clients. While the agency's specialty is children's fiction, they also represent writers of young adult and adult crime fiction.

Penny's list is largely full, with the agency currently closed for submissions. Check the agency's websites for updates on submissions, but it might be better to set your sites on another children's fiction agent instead.

If you have any further information about Penny or the Jennifer Luithlen Agency, we at Agent Hunter would love to hear from you.

Currently not accepting work, but if this changes then the following guidelines apply ... We are a children's books agency and do not handle adult fiction. Ideally we would like to talk to you briefly about what you would like to show us. Please call us during office hours, although between 9-10am and 3-5pm are the best times for us to speak to you. If you are ringing on behalf of someone else, please don't. The author themselves must show that they have the confidence to call and talk about their writing. This is the first thing a publisher will be looking to see. The number to call is: 0116 273 5697. We do not charge a reading fee and we will look at everything that is sent to us. We will try and give honest feedback if time allows. We prefer it if new authors choose to send their work to us exclusively but if your submission has been seen by other agents and publishers we need to know this history and details of the responses you have had.
