Profile Summary
Susan Yearwood founded her agency in 2007. Prior to setting up her own company, she worked at Penguin Books, followed by a stint as an Arts Administrator for the Centerprise Literature Development Project in London.
Susan is actively building her list and would be a good choice of agent for anyone writing literary and commercial fiction (in particular psychological thrillers), children's middle grade fiction and young adult. In non-fiction, she will consider popular psychology, business and lifestyle.
We suspect that Susan is the only agent at her agency as the client list is small and no other agents are listed. Most of her clients are debut authors and Prajwal Parajuly is perhaps her most notable client to date. His literary debut, The Gurkha's Daughter: Stories, was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize and longlisted for The Story Prize in the US.
She also represented Kerry Young's debut novel 'PAO' which was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award 2011 and the Commonwealth Book Prize 2012 (note - Kerry is no longer listed as a client on the website).
A new company website was launched in May 2015, and she has a relatively small online presence. We have asked Susan to provide more information about her literary tastes and preferences and look forward to updating this page in due course. If any subscribers reading this page can fill in some more details about Susan, we would like to hear from you.
Susan Yearwood graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and worked as the Arts Administrator for the Centerprise Literature Development Project in London, after which she set up her literary agency.
Susan is looking for debut and previously published writers; writers of contemporary literary novels and commercial (crime/thriller, women's and general) fiction are particularly welcome. She is also interested in quality fiction, whether literary or commercial, from around the world.
