Profile Summary

In 2000, Mundy started Atlantic Books Limited, for which he acted as CEO for fourteen years. The venture was enormously successful, publishing many award winning novels, including The White Tiger, which won the Man Booker Prize in 2008. Other well-known titles published under Mundy's reign include The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas, God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens, and The Good Doctor by Damon Galgut.

But even the most successful businessmen sometimes want a change! In 2014, Mundy decided to leave Atlantic Books behind and founded an agency, TMA. Using Ed Victor Ltd's new back-end service, Bedford Square Literary Management, Mundy was able to set up a small, independent agency with the support of a larger and well-established brand. TMA has a slightly expanded wheelhouse from most agencies, also helping authors with self-publishing and career planning, as well as helping brands commission and control content.

Also in conjunction with Ed Victor Ltd, TMA co-founded ALLi (Alliance of Independent Authors) to help self-published and independent publishers sell global rights to their work. Rights and permissions laws are hard enough for big publishers to get their head around, let alone independent authors!

Mundy represents a mix of fiction and non-fiction authors. While he makes no public statements about what he does or doesn't take, we have been able to conclude the following from his client list:

  • He tends to represent non-fiction clients who are experts in their fields, such as Dr Sue Black and James Crabtree
  • Across both fiction and non-fiction, Mundy represents a number of journalists
  • His fiction taste leans towards general and commercial literary fiction
