Profile Summary

Vivienne has been an agent for three decades and more. Please note that, because her list is already crowded and active, she is not currently accepting new submissions. For most writers, therefore, what follows is by way of information only (though we’ve a sneaky feeling that if you’re a top level mountaineer with a remarkable story to tell, she might just find room in her list for you.)

In terms of fiction, her authors range from top-end literary (most notably Margaret Atwood, most famous for her A Handmaid’s Tale) to highly successful genre authors. Thsoe genre authors include authors of women’s fiction (Lauren Weisberger, best known for The Devil Wears Prada; Jilly Cooper, best known for her hyper-successful, and raunchy, Polo series) but include at least one notable thriller writer: the internationally bestselling Jeffrey Deaver, author of the Bone Collector, among much else.

We note that many of her clients (Deaver, Atwood, Brackenbury, Benson and others) live and work in North America.

Vivienne’s list also includes a number of remarkably accomplished mountaineers, of whom Chris Bonnington and Joe ‘Touching the Void’ Simpson will be the ones most recognisable to most. She also represents the late Richie Benaud, the king of cricketing commentary and one-time Captain of the Australian team.

Again, do not send submissons to Vivienne, as they will not be accepted. We will change her status if and when that changes.
